Tatiana Matthews has been providing professionalism, hope, and humor to her patients since 1998. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) in Georgia and North Carolina, and serves as the Clinical Director at Atlanta Specialized Care.
Tatiana earned her Master of Science in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling with a specialty in addiction and mental health from East Carolina University. Her clinical training was completed at Duke University Medical Center.
With extensive experience across academic, hospital, and private practice settings, Tatiana offers individual, couples, family, and group therapy to both adults and adolescents. She is also a skilled speaker, educating the community on a variety of topics. Her clinical expertise includes anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, trauma, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, learning disabilities, executive functioning, emotional regulation, treatment resistance, addictions, and co-dependency.
Tatiana’s approach to therapy is holistic, addressing the mind, body, spirituality, family system, academics, vocation, and hobbies. When requested, she can incorporate a Christian perspective into her therapy sessions. She is client-centered, developing interventions that are both challenging and supportive, avoiding any form of shaming.
She is trained in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). EMDR is used to address trauma, while DBT focuses on teaching emotional regulation.
In addition to her clinical work, Mrs. Matthews is the author of Fred the Fox Shouts “NO!”, an adult’s guide to discussing sexual abuse prevention with children. Illustrated by Allison Fears, the book helps parents and caregivers explain the concepts of “private parts” and personal safety, empowering children to recognize and avoid abuse.
